Catholic League Finals

Guys:NTS, Girls: 9th
Weather: 40 and windy. Course: Rolling, with some sandy and rocky footing

The League Meet was on Sunday, October 24 at a farily tough course at Stoney Creek MetroPark. It was cold and windy, especially off the water, but many ran quite well. Here it goes by race:

Girls Meet. Teams Participating-Marian,Divine Child, Mercy, Regina, Ladywood, ND Prep, B.Gallagher, Gabriel Richard, Cabrini, Benedictine, B.Borgess, Holy Redeemer, Cardinal Mooney, and Aquinas.
The Girls meet saw some PR's fall despite the cold and freshman Laura Sorbo ran a 23:59 qualifying her for the Operation Freindship meet vs. the Detroit Public School League. There she busted her PR with an excellent 22:29 setting her 3rd on the top XC times since the team was restarted in 1997. One of the sisters from Divine Child won the CHSL meet, Krishawna Parker from Crockett won Operation Freindship. Divine Child Won the CHSL title and Mercy won the OF meet.

Boys Meet. Only A-B teams. Teams Competing-Brother Rice, Divine Child, University of Detroit, Notre Dame, St.Mary's, ND Prep, and DeLaSalle.
The guys had a pretty good meet with no PRs per se but some second best times which isn't bad considering the conditions. Sophomore Steve Mance was our first finisher in 14th place with a time of 17:26, barely qualifying him for "All-Catholic" honors by 2 places. Terry was 32nd in 18:09. Steve easily ran an 18:08 at Operation Freinship. Matt Daly of Catholic Central won both meets, CC won both team titles.
